   i was his sight

i was the Wastrel before Buddha

i was the Air before Buddha

was the Air

i was the Flame before Buddha

was the Flame

i was the Stars before Buddha

was the Stars

   when Buddha smiled

   i was the Thought

   when Buddha died

   i was the Death

and always I was before Buddha
